Hi,
I know, through experience of Xcelsius 2008, there are quite a few performance guiidelines to follow with regard to building your Dashboard in Xcelsius 2008 but are there any specifics ones we should adhere to with regards to Dashboards 4.0.
Is there a recommended limit with regard to your data or what types of components are performance-intensive and what performance improvements are part of Dashboards 4.0?
For example, I tend to stick with hundreds of records as opposed to thousands in Xcelsius 2008 but have Dashboards 4.0 improved enough to take a whole lot more data?
Any guidance would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Scott
I hope by now you are aware of the core feature of Dashboards 4.0 apart from other scalable & productivity improvements. If not, just a glance about it... i.e., Direct data connectivity off semantic layer. Until 2008, there were several connectivity methods, of which popular ones are QaaWs (Smaller result set) & Live Office (bigger result set) which in turn connect to Universe.
Most of the performance issues or connectivity issues especially if you were using QaaWs that SQL & passes data using XML format are because of unavailability of the Direct connection to Universe. I guess using Query Panel would make a lot of difference. My $0.02
