Hide and suppress sections shuts down Crystal

This just started happening recently and I'm at a loss. When I right click on a section (usually details) to suppress or hide the section or unsuppress or unhide it, I get a message that Crystal Reports has stopped working and will shut down. I can go into the section expert and manage the suppression there, but it's just a little aggravating to have to take these extra steps. I can't figure out what is wrong all of a sudden. And of course if I don't save my work quite often, I will lose what I've done.

Has anyone else encountered this problem and if so, how was it resolved?

Thanks for any help or advice anyone has.

Couple of questions that can get you thinking apart from valuable comments of Abhliash & Brain:

1) Is this a new report created in the same version in which this issue is occuring? I have heard of similar behaviors where the original report is created in CR 10 and migrated all over to CR 2008 or CR 2011

2) Do you see the same behavior with any other report having same level of complexity? It could be just that this report is corrupted

3) Can you export this report to Crystal Reports format and try if you are seeing the same behavior with the exported copy? If you do not see the issue, you can continue to use the exported copy

Hi,

Does Crystal crash on all reports? What happens if you create a simple report with 1 table and try hiding/suppress a section?

Thanks,

Brian

Hi,

This certainly has to be one of its kind CR crashing issues! What's the CR version?

Try adding crw32.exe to the DEP list. Disable the Antivirus and that might help too.
