Different depreciation key required for the same asset class in same COD

Dear All,

My client is having two different companies operating in the same country and therefore under same COD, but are following different methods of depreciation in different company codes. One is following WDV and other is following SLM. Therefore, I have created two different depreciation keys for the same asset class and maintaining the depreciation keys at asset class level, where the relevant dep key should be populated.

In order to achieve this I wrote a substitution rule where prerequisite states that IF Company Code= "a" and Asset Class ="x" and Dep AREA ="01", Then the dep key should be substituted by "y".

Similarly, with other company code i wrote a substitution for other company code like IF Company code ="b" and Asset Class = "x" and Dep AREA ="01", Then the dep key should be substituted by "z".

Now, the problem is that system is ignoring the company code and considering only the asset class and dep area for substitution. Therefore, both the conditions result in "true" upon simulation and whichever condition is later in sequence the substitution value is picked from that condition.

Can anyone tell me if I am missing something basic or there is any other convinient way to handle the issue.

Regards,

Anurag Gupta

simply create two depreciation areas, one for each company code, then, you will have one useless depreciation for each company code.

Asset class is same for 2 comp codes yes, In that case you can define 2 dep keys and change in AS01 --- depre areas.

hi

why not create two asset class to easily to separate two situations for two company codes? just a suggestion

or

maintain one depreciation key for asset class as a default, if for another company code, just change the depreciation key manual when creating asset master. it is not very complicate.

or

create two depreciation areas, one for each company code, then, you will have one useless depreciation for each company code -- not a resonable way

and, yes, that is the limitation of substituion in AA.
