Crystal Reports 2011 data selection

I am trying to to create an inventory report that includes the most recent unit price and sales date of each inventory part. My fields include all of the historical and current unit prices and sales dates. How do I exclude all of the prices and dates except for the most recent?

Here's what you need to do:

    1) Create a group on the Inventory Part no.

    2) Insert the date field in the Record Sort Expert and sort it in 'Descending Order'

    3) Insert a summary and select 'Maximum' of the Date Field

    4) Place the summary on Group Footer and suppress the Details Section

    Hope this helps!

I would like to have the formula placed after the last 12/31/2007 line such that I would have a group displayed for all those parts that have a last sold date < 01/01/2008 with the sum as a footer of the group.

The @TotalCost is on the Group #1 footer line next to the Max of Unit Cost.
