Dump files in /usr/sap/<SID>/DVEBMGS<xx>/j2ee/cluster/server0

Dear Experts,

In my BW Production Systsm i can see lot of heapdump and javacore files and snap files are present from 2010 to Sep 2011 at /usr/sap/<SID>/DVEBMGS<xx>/j2ee/cluster/server0 which are occupying large space at file sytem /usr/sap/<SID>/

Can you please let me know what are thses files for and if i delete these files will there be any impact on the system ?

Futher i have gone through some notes but neither thses are OOM dumps nor these are User generated thread dump .

Hi,

Core files you can deleted. These files generate if there is some problem in the system.

Heap dump- A full heap dump is needed for detailed analysis of memory related problems in the Java stack. So, might be that is generated because of memory related problem analysis. So, you can delete these files if not required.

SNAP files make sure that tracel level should be set to ERROR.
