Is it possible to force a one way synchronization? I would like to force a data upload from PDA to the mobile server but no downloads. Is there a way to prevent download of application or data from the server during a synchronization?
Thanks
Sid
Hi Sid,
SAP MI 2.5 has a feature "Suppress Download" where the end user can choose just before sync, whether he want to skip the download at the next sync. The feature was released for PPC with SP09, for W32 it will come with SP13 (planned for July05).
Best,
Wolfgang

Hi Sid,
what type of synchronization are you talking about: SmartSync or GenericSync?

Hi Siddhartha,
for generic sync, it only depends on the application, the MI framework has no influence on it.
So for example for the generic sync application Time and Travel (MTT) it is not possible to have a one way sync, because the application does not allow it. If you have a selfdeveloped generic sync application, you can implement it in a way, that only data is send to the backend, or only data from the backend is requested.
For SmartSync I'm not 100 % sure, but I think that you can disable single SyncBO's. With that, it should be possible to only send data in one way.
I will ask a colleague and get back to you.
Best Regards, alex
