Maintain users in AD and UME Database

Hello

We have a SAP NetWeaver Portal 7.01 and we want to maintain users in two repositories: the local UME database and a Ms Active Directory.

We are following this help topic:

But with this it seems that you can only maintain the service users in the UME database and all the dialogue users will be created in the AD.

We want to use the Portal User Administration Identity Management iView to create dialogue users in both the AD and the local UME database.

Is this possible? Any workable solution?

Hi Jon,

I'm not clear if I understand your problem, but maybe you misunderstand something here:

UME can switch to get it's information either out of the database, LDAP or an SAP repository (the ABAP users).

It's not a good idea to keep the same information in two repositories.

Thanks for replying tomy thread.

Yes, we know how to pull users from different data sources. But what we need is to create users in different data sources.

If we use the configuration provided in the URL indicated above, then we can create service users in the local database and other users in the LDAP.

However, this is not enough for us: we need to create default users in both the local database and the LDAP. And we want to use the SAP Portal User Administration for this.
