Transport of request from DEV to Qa ended up with status RC-8

Hi Everybody

There is new custom field created in Source system and then same new field is craeted in BW also. All the necessary steps are done to create the new object. It is mapped also successfully. All this were done in DEV system and now when i tranport the Transport Request from DEV to QA, the transport is ending up with status RC-8 and error mesg it gives in the log view is :

"Mapping between data source "A" and source system "B" is inconsistent.

Field "Z" will not be delivered from data source A in source system B

Reference to Transfer structure C not available. No activation possible".

I am not sure where it has gone wrong. I could see that the new custom feild is not present in the transfer structure, thus the transfer rule is also not maintained.

Any body can help me to rectify this error. And what is the possible cause of this error.

Hi Rohini,

it looks like you didn't transport the stuff in the source system or you missed replicating the datasource before transporting the BW stuff. So steps are: transport the source system stuff if you didn't right now, then replicate your datasource and then repeat your BW transport.

I had first transported the Source System changes related Transport Request and then Transport Request of BW. But i didnt repliacte the data source before transporting the BW TR(Transport Request). Now i have replicated the data source, so shall repeat the BW transport?

I replicated the data source and then retransported the TR, but still it is giving the same status as RC-8.

Hi Rohini,

you say that your CR in source system were successfully imported...now, you have replicated your source system in BW.

Do you see your added Z field in the transfer structure of your infosource ?

TR of source system are imported succesfully. I have replicated the data source. And now TR of BW is retransported.

I was not able to see the Z field in the infosource before, but after retranpoting i can see Z field in info source. But when the TR is being retransported it is still ending up with RC-8.

Now, if you see your new field into the (transfer structure of) target system, try to re-create another CR with your transfer rules/structure and import it...but are you sure the the error message is the same now (not the return code, but the details..) ?

Yes i am getting the same mesg.

But now i tried to upload the data to the ODS having the same Z object, and i could upload it successfully. So now no issues.

But iam afraid that if this will craete some problem in future.

I would like to reconfirm if i will be able to transport the Transport request ended up with status RC-8 in QA system to PRD system?

Or i will have to create a new TR# in DEV for transfer structure and communtication structure in DEV to transport changes to PRD successfully?

Roberto i would request to reply as soon you see this post, bcoz i got to transport this changes to PRD by tomorrow.

Anyway, yes you can. Why are you so hesitant to transport? Is there an existing rule regarding transport that you want to avoid to violate?

Just remember, dont repeat same mistakes again in the live R/3 as you did in QA.

Yup , this is my old post. but did nt get proper reply, so had to create new post.

Iam not hesitant to transport. Transport is done by basis guy at our client side and transport to live is done only on fridays.
