TEXT FIELD EMPTY

Hi Experts,

Please Help me!

We have a text field which it is showing text for the CSR which is having text in Data Source but showing GUID for the CSR which are empty in Data Source.

Please Suggest me what is the error...

Hi Nikhil,

i hope you are checking the data in some report. By default the IO display property would be standard. So whenever text is present in Text MD, it is displaying the tesxt otherwise, it is displaying Key value of that text.

If you donot want wish to see the Key(GUID), then change the IO properties fior thsi object to display only the text (short/medium/long) depending on which text(i.e short/medium/long) you are loading.

Few points here...

1. Check Text table for the InfoObject which contains CSR value. By the way, what is CSR?

2. Do you have any formatting issue in CSR field? i.e some of the CSR is in "External" format and some other is "Internal" format?

If that is true, please check if you have the same format in cube data as per the text table.

3. For InfoObject text you need to check if Language dependency is there. Like, if you have text maintained with "EN" only a person logging with DE would not see text

In the same way check if if the Text is Time dependent.

Hi Nikhil,

Please try reload master data and activate it.

If you are facing the issue after reloading master data, display the master data and check if the text is blank.

Also try the option "Values From Master Data" at query level.

but it is showing id for some csr and for some it is showing text..

If there is no text for a record, the key will be displayed as text. To ensure text is correctly displayed, make sure texts are loaded for all master data entries

Can you try reloading the text and activating MD again.... If it is blank, it is probably a space in the text

hi,

check the data in Master data text. if there the data displays for the key value is correct then check in the query designer & change the property of the same.

Hi,

So you will be having that field displayed as key and text in the query.

So since this is master data object its text is getting displayed.

If you don't want to see you can remove this from your Field property.
