Not Showing in RSA1

Dear All,

i have created the data source in the source system and i have transported it to production. but now when i go to the RSA1 transaction in BI and in datasource section, the particular application component doesnt show. why is this?

Hi,

What is the message you are getting after you replicate data source using RSDS in BI?

Just try to search the data source by clicking on find button, and do not forget to select the proper source system before you search data source from RSA1.

i did the replication, it loaded. now when i try to create the info package it gives the message "The DataSource ZBIPLAN(PMICLNT700) does not exist in object version A".

but this is showing as an application component. that means data source has created properly right? then why is this erro coming?

Hi,

After replication you will need to activate the transfer structure of the data source before doing the data load. You can do it using program RS_transtru_activate_all. Here you will need to give the corresponding Infosource name and the source system name.

the data source doesnot exists in "A" version means you need to acitvate it.

How did you replicate the DS

as 3.X or 7?

Also once the DS is replicated for the first time, it will be always avilable in Inactive version.

If you replicated as 7.X DS

Just right click on the DS--> Activate DS.

If you replicated as 3.X DS (you can see a small sqaure shape just beside DS)

Just right click on the DS--> Activate DS --> This will take you to transfer structure which needs to be activated. Once you activate this DS will get activated.

Once the DS is activated then you can create infopackage & load the data for the same.

Hi DTD,

Once you create a DS in source system side for the first time, you will have to replicate the same in BW first. Then only you will be able to see the DS in BW.

Goto RSDS transction -> Enter the DS tech name & source tech name. Then from the menu Datasource--> Replicate Datasource.

It will give you pop up to replicate as 3.X or 7 DS. select the desired option & click on ok. Once you do this step, you will be able to see you DS in RSA in the respective Application component & not to forget you select the correct source system in RSA1 to view you Application component.

Hi,

Check if the concerned Apllication Component has been transported to Production system or not. If its not transported then first you will need to transport the application component and then data source.

Also check if before transporting the data source have you mapped the source systems. It can be done through Transport Connection tabe of the RSA1 in production system directly. There is button called Conversion. Just click over that ans then map the development source system with the production source systemm so that source system assignment could be done correctly while transporting teh data source. this should be done before the transport is being done.
