Transport User groups across different environments.

Hi Experts,

I have created a lot of user groups in the development environment. I want these to get transported as it is in the quality environment. How can I achieve this. We have transported the roles etc through the normal transport process. Can we transport the user groups likewise or are they transported through some xml? Please guide me to the right process.

Hi Kaustubh,

You can export the User Group and import it in the target system. Please be mindful of the fact that the User to Group assignment in two systems may be different and you might need to adjust the Users assigned to each group.

1. Access the Identity Management WD application through webdynpro/dispatcher/sap.com/tc_secume_wdumeadmin/UmeAdminApp

2. Search for the group

3. Export

4. Save in a text file and adjust the User asignment

5. Access the same application in target system.

6. Import the Text file.

Hi KM,

Portal user groups are transportable using the User Administration import and export function. You can refer this page:

Do take note though that roles assignment in user groups do not get transported together. It will need to be redone after import.
