Show Empty Data option in Crystal Reports 2011 does not work

Hello Everyone,

I have a question regarding the SHOWEMPTYDATA option in Crystal Reports 2011. This option was not available till Crystal Reports 2008 and SAP claimed to have this included in Crystal Reports 2011 and they did, but it is not serving our purpose.

The option appears when we try to create a new Crystal Report or when we try to create a connection to BW in order to run the report. And the purpose of the option is to show all the entries in the report even if the values are zeros. But the option seems to work only when the Crystal Report is sitting in our desktop. When the same crystal report with the SHOWEMPTY DATA option checked (i.e. it shows as TRUE)and saved to BW does not retain that value once you run the report. It goes back to (FALSE) and the data disappears in the report.

It does the same thing with already existing reports as well as new reports built from scratch with the option checked.

I don't know if that option is not made compatible to work with BW system or if there is any other setting I am missing.

If anyone has any thoughts on this please share.

Any comments will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks & Regards,

SRV

Hi SRV,

Since this works in CR all I can suggest is you post it to the BW forum or possibly the SAP Integration Kit may be able to help also.
