Path for Export to Excel

My customer has the export to excel path set to c:\program files etc for security reasons.

The Finance team do not want the sales and warehouse staff to be able to access financial reports exported to excel, and all users must share the path if it is a network one. (Design does need changing)

The issue we are having is that the site now has a mix of 32 & 64 bit PC's, and the path in the 64 bit ones is c:\program files(x86) not C:\Progran files, so these user are unable to export any files from the 64 bit pc's.

The options I see are to install the SAP client in the different directory, or create a dummy folder under the C:\Program files location.

Does anyone else have a better workaround, as I can see this may cause issues on future upgrades...

Julie,

Talk with customer site for a dedicated folder for your SAP use. The best option to cope up with the future changes is to make any "ABC" folder in C drive with the help of IT Infrastructure Dept. at customer end. Give that path to all the users.

Thanks,

Thanks Gautum, but the issue my customer has is that a shared folder gives all users access to all exported documents, including financial statements
