Will Custom Masthead from EP6.0 work in EP7.3?

Hi Experts,

I have a Question about transporting custom Masthead in portal 6.0 to Portal 7.3

1. We have a custom Masthead currently in Portal 6.0.

Will the same masthead work AS IT IS in Portal 7.3 or what changes will be required?

2. Since portal 7.3 has AJAX framework, is it advicable to use the Masthead(6.0) and export to Portal 7.3?

or copy standard Masthead from Portal 7.3 and make changes?

Please advice which is the suitable way to go.

    Dear Sumangala,

If possible modify the SAP Portal 7.3 based on modification done in SAP EP6.0.

I think if you transport EP6.0 custom masthead then it might not work properly in 7.3.

    Best Regards

    1. No. AS IT IS won't work, as you at least will have to convert the application to WAR. The rest depends on how you did customize the 6.0 masthead

    2. Start from scratch. Copying the SAP masthead and add your custom code is not recommended. You should take a look at how SAP did code the masthead and use that knowledge to code your own, new version from scratch.
