Short Domain Names using Win AD in BOE XI 3.1 SP3??

Hello,

I need some help. We have configured our BOE XI 3.1 server to use Kerberos login. Users will log in with Windows AD authentication. We have users logging in from two different domains, child1.domain.com and child2.domain.com. We have child1.domain.com set as the default, so users do not need to specify the domain when logging in. For child2, users can currently log in by specifying a username of user@ CHILD2.DOMAIN.COM. The fully qualified domain must be entered, and it must be in all caps. Is it possible to allow users to login using a different method for specifying the domain, either CHILD2\user or user@ CHILD2? Also, is it possible to allow the domain to be case insensitive? (I had to put spaces after the @ so this message would post)

Thanks. Let me know if you need additional information. My IT folks have done a fair amount of Googling on this, but haven't been able to figure out for sure whether we can do what we want. Seems a bit odd that the older version of Crystal supports short domain names but the new one doesn't. (we are currently migrating from the very old Crystal Enterprise v10.0 where we could login as child2\user)
