SAP DEMO ECC 6.00 / User SAP*

Hi,

I using SAP ECC 6.00 demo using VMWARE, i am facing several issues on the demo version and for that i seek your expert advise;

1. I can see only only DEMO company setup (i.e. 0001) which has account posting period only for 1998/03 - 1998/03. When i am trying to post my transaction system prevent from it due to invalid posting period.

2. I try to create new company using (ox15) but system prompt with error message i.e." *No changes for user SAP allowed Choose 'Display object' or 'Cancel'."**

3. I ceated a new user login from GUI with admin roles, and after that i tried to login from GUI using this new user ID but can't.

Your help on the above mentioned issues is highly appreciated.

This is because SAP*/DDIC users are not allowed to do the change. Use a different userid.

Hi, thanks for the reply, if this user is not authorized to do such setup/config related tasks then which other user i can use. And also i created my own users with SAP_ALL role. but still unable to logon and getting some error message "LOGON NOT POSSIBLE ""ERROR IN LICENSE CHECK". And also the data in the client and User ID fields is becoming RED.

You are on the right path, you need to use your own user and this is okay that you have sap_all.

However, since you haven't applied a permanent license yet so I think that's why you are not able to log on into SAP with the users other than SAP*.

First apply an SAP license using slicense via SAP* logon or from OS level. Then proceed with any other task.

thank you, I am sorry I am not coming form the technical background. i will highly appreciate if you can help me by providing the detail steps for applying & validating the "license check" by either method SAP* logon or OS Level. Moreover plz assist me from where I can get this License.

Hi Aayan,

We understand your concerns, however some of the concepts are already discussed so many times and the good things is help for those topics is readily available for all of us.

If you are on regular SAP support for a customer and new in technical/basis SAP then we advise you to develop an interest to search and troubleshoot apart from studying time to time for various concepts for the tasks you work on. This is the most efficient way to become an experienced basis technocrat and fastest way to resolve the problems. For e.g. service.sap.com/notes, SDN forums, help.sap.com, google etc.

However, at the same time we should not hesitate asking the questions. So you are always welcome. I also do the same

You try to refer some SAP Notes and also try to google/SDN/help.sap.com search to find out step by step help to install SAP license key.

Hi,

Thanks for the response. I am not an SAP Basis/technical consultant. I am functional consultant of SAP MM/SD/PP. I am not customer with SAP to be able to access their regular customer support services. If you got a license key and you know the procedure how to apply it let me know. Searching it from the google is the last option for me.

Since you are not a technical basis person, you can request your basis person to install license on the system.

Thank you buddy, this issue is with my DEMO version. And i can't afford to hire a Basis consultant to issue with my DEMO. it will be so nice of you if u can offer me any help on this issue. I will be able to manage it myself if you can write a steps for me.

Hi Aayan,

To request your license key, always access SAP Service Marketplace at http://service.sap.com/licensekey

Installation number, system ID, system type, SAP product, product version, license type, customer hardware key, operating system, database and the technical usage for the SAP products 'NetWeaver' and 'ERP'.

The incoming requests are processed automatically within a few hours (maximum processing time: three working days).

For the following data changes, you require a new license key:

Customer hardware key - database - installation number - system ID.

Choose "Request permanent license key" and then search for your required installation. In the installation overview, you can enter the installation number directly in the blank field in the column for the installation.

Alternatively, you can also use the installation search. Here, the system displays all installation numbers for which you have authorization.

Requesting a license key for a new SAP Business Suite system

Choose "New system" and enter all required data. To proceed to the hardware data, choose "Continue". Enter your customer hardware key, the license type and the validity date. Choose "Save" to save your entries. Choose "Continue" to display all the system data again. Enter your e-mail address and choose "Send".

For systems as of Basis Web AS 7.0, a maintenance certificate is also requested at the same time.

SAP Netweaver AS ABAP systems (Release 7.10)

Install the permanent license key as follows: In the SAP menu, choose "Administration" -> "System Administration" -> "Administration" -> "SAP Licenses" or call transaction SLICENSE.

In transaction SLICENSE, choose "New Licenses" to access the "SAP License Administration # Digitally-Signed License Keys" tab page.

Choose "Install".

In the dialog box that is displayed, specify the file to be loaded from the file system.

Specify and confirm the license key file.

You receive a success message that you must confirm.

The new license is displayed under "Installed Licenses" in the database.

Now check whether you can log on to the SAP system.

Install the digitally-signed license key at operating system level:

Using the parameter saplikey-install <file name> , the system can read the license data from the license key file.

SAP NetWeaver AS ABAP systems (Release 7.0)

Digitally-encrypted license key as of AS 7.0.

As of AS 7.0, you should install the new digitally-signed license key. This new, digitally signed license key avoids additional database accesses, thus improving performance.

Install the permanent license key as follows:

You are in the initial screen of transaction SLICENSE.

Choose New Licenses.

Choose Install.

In the dialog box, specify the file to be loaded.

You receive a success message that you must confirm. The new license is displayed under Installed Licenses.

Hope now you will manage to install license key.

Many thanks for your reply. The steps you've mentioned really seems to be very useful one. But unfortunately I don't have login authority for "SAP Support portal" and i think the downloading or requesting permanant license keys is only granted to SAP partners and clients. It will be a great favour from you, if you can download this file and send it in the email attachment. I am sure you have got the access to SAP to that level....

License can't be distributed like this. It is even not possible.

From where did you download this DEMO version and which installation guide did you refer to install it ?

So now we understand that why you asks step by step help, again n again, because you don't have access to OSS (SAP support portal) and you couldn't read those SAP Notes I mentioned.

If you are not an SAP customer and if you didn't download DEMO software from SAP OSS (means, not with the standard license) then most probably there must be some instructions in the DEMO software media or the guide you are referring to, to install SAP license for that DEMO system.

Can you close all previous periods and open a new posting period in spro configuration. This should resolve your problem.

You can create a new admin user with SAP_ALL access and then perform required changes. Ensure that client is open for customizing modifications. You can check the same in tcode SCC4.

Whats the error message you getting ?

If its related to license check, request a new license key from SAP site and apply the same on your system.

Ans. *well Iu2019ve created new users with SAP_ALL role, but I still getting error when trying to Login by using this new user ID. The error message is "Logon not possible - error in license check". Secondly I check the client (111) which I m using it is set to status ''Changes to Repository and Cross Client Customizing Allowed' Is this what you meant from the above*.

Whatu2019s the error message you are getting?

If itu2019s related to license check, request a new license key from SAP site and apply the same on your system.

Ans. By using the new user logon, I m getting u201Clicense check erroru201D. Can u please tell me from where & how exactly on SAP site can get this license check?
