First Delta after Init taking too long

Dear experts,

We recently did a Delta init for 0HR_PT_3 which ran for about 4:15 hr and brought over half million record. We immediately followed a Delta init that ran for 4:45 hr and brought in just 600 records. The next delta after that ran in 5 mins and brought about 1800 records.

The funny part here is that during the first Delta load, there was minimum business activity and other jobs running around the same time had no such unusual load time. Even in the past, we have observed that the first delta immediately after the Delta init takes too long to load.

Has anybody faced the same problem ? What could be the root cause ?

Hi,

The basic understanding here is.........

The first delta init will work just like a Full load from the inception. The subsequent deltas will obviously be smaller volumes and short times. There is nothing peculiar in your case.

Coming to business hours time, HR related datasources are not like LO extractors wherein you need to wait for the down times. Unlike LO, all other DS are of pull type. You can load any time.

Correction on my message Suman

The first Delta after Initilization took over 4:45 minutes and brought just 600 records. That's what I meant. I know the Delta init will take high time but the immediate first delta which brings very few records should not take so high time.
