IDES ECC 6.0 SR 3 installation- size

Hi All,

i am installing SAP ECC 6.0 SR3 IDES.

As per SAP note 1244548 size required for oracle based installation is 290 GB.

Is this the size of complete installation ? or this is size of DB?

I have 300 GB HDD in which i have done 2 partion 52 GB and 236 GB

is this sufficient for successful installation?

Add another 20 GB if possible . Please ensure that you correctly layout the tablespaces on the drives. Else you will have space issues.

thnx for reply.

I have already installed OS and ready for installation.adding 20 GB extra is not possible otherwise i have to format system again

and reinstall OS again.

Please let me know If i can go ahead for installation with this config now.

I am installing this server for RND purpose later i will scrap this.

Hi ,

As per SAP note 1244548 - IDES ERP 6.0 ECC 6.0 SR3, When you install ECC 6.0 SR3 IDES , installed database size would be 290 GB.

As mentioned , you have only 300 GB HDD which has been partitioned as follows

1) Drive 1 : 52 GB

2) Drive 2: 236 GB

Above configuration will not be sufficient to install IDES ECC 6.0 SR3 using Oracle database.

You have 2 options

1) Add another 100 GB Space for having IDES installation done on Oracle database. Partitions would be as follows

Drive 1: OS + SWAP ( 30 - 40 GB)

Drive 2: Oracle datafiles+ binaries ( 320 GB minimum)

Drive 3: SAP executables ( 15 GB min)

So your total requirement would be around 375 GB.

2) You can go with IDES installation on DB2 or MSSQL . MSSQL database size is 190GB and DB2 database size is 180 GB.

You can have following partitions

Drive 1: OS + SWAP ( 30 - 40 GB)

Drive 2: Database( 220 GB Min)

Drive 3: SAP executables( 20 GB)

So your disk space requirement would be around 270 - 280 GB. With your current configuration you can easily install this.
