ECR / ECO Process - No of Approvals

Hi

I want to use ECR / ECO approval process for BOMs / Routing / Master Recipe. I need to ensure that whatever the changes done for these objects only to be effective after ECO is released (System Status: ECOR).

I do not want to use 'Release Key' option as it is valid only for BOM / Routing and Not for Master Recipes.

The Basic question for ECR / ECO Process is that the moment you make changes to BOM / Routing / Master Recipe, they are valid from ECR/ECO 'Valid-from' date. which is wrong as ECO not yet released

am I missing something to control changes based on ECOR status (other than using "Release Key' option).

BOM, Routing, Recipes, Engineering Change are PLM owned master data objects in SAP ERP.

We have created a new Engineering Record object based on Case Management, which is flexible & customizable to suite many

scenarios

As part of Ehp5 & Ehp6 - in our PLM Web UI solution.

- here, in the new Engineering Record - Material, Material BOM, Recipe & Specifications objects can be added as change objects, with configurable workflow.

- The workflow when approved & released .....the validity date of changed objects under influence of Change Master - can be set to a Target date or any future date... this is your current problem & gets addressed
