Hello,
I would like to get started with Business ByDesign. Is it possible to get a trial account with 2-3 users to see how it works? How to you get started using/developing for ByD?

to get started, you could register in Business Center -> http://sme.sap.com.
To get a test/demo system, you can request a "test drive", normally you have to contact a partner for that but if you search for "bydesign test drive" on google, you will get an url
In this test drive you have different scenarios to play around with the system.
If you want starting with consulting, I suggest you this book (german -> I saw the flag in your profile 😞

The book gives not so many details but it`s perfect to get a first overview.
On amazon there are also an development book available but I haven`t read it, so I can`t tell you something about...but I`m currently writing a blog post about how to start ByDesign development and I have already publish some other post about the development environment and programming languages:
