Hi Experts,
Please help me in understanding the right way to customize Web UI screens for various business packages in ERP 6.0 EHP5. I know that from EHP5, mostly all the business package applications are implemented using Webdynpro for ABAP. But when it comes to customizing these screens, I couldn't find any documentation/guidelines.
I am focusing for using the "business package for generic EAM functions 1.50". So, Is there a customizing facility available in these applications for simple UI related changes, like renaming the labels, hiding fields, tabs, etc.
And, if everything has to be done by modifications to the Webdynpro applications, is there any documentation describing which applications corresponds to which screens and what's the framework behind them?
Upon my search, I came across few tutorials for FPM(Floor plan manager) and that Webdynpro ABAP applications are developed using this. Is there any relevance of FPM with the business package contents?
Your answers will help me in understanding the best way to deal with customizations and modifications to the UI screens.
Thank you
Vijay.K
You are exactly on the right track with the Floorplan Manager. Almost all new Web Dynpro ABAP applications from SAP are created using the Floorplan Manager. The Floorplan Manager uses a configuration tool to allow simple changes to the UI such as removing fields, moving fields and tabs around, renaming of UI elements. Even more complex operations can be done via the configuration tool if you are also willing to perform enhancements to the underlying feeder classes.
In all likelyhood you should continue with your research on FPM. There are lots of materials available here on SCN including some videos and tutorials.

Hi,
you need to use FPM, POWL and in some case enhancment technique to customize the WDA UI screens.
Thanks,
Chandra
