Hi Raja,

Unlike MS Excel, Crystal Reports does not have the functionality to freeze Row/Column.

There are no workarounds as well.

Hi Abhilash,

Thanks for the reply,

But providing the client a solution to export the crystal report output to excel is not suggestible.

Can i know if there is any ways such that when the crystal report is executed, the output exports automatically to excel so thet we can apply the freeze columns functionality over there?

Please Help,

Thanks & Regards,

Hi,

The Crystal Reports designer cannot export to Excel or any other format automatically; the user needs to export it.

If you have Business Objects Enterprise or Crystal Reports Server, then you can schedule the report in Excel format.

Hi Abhilash,

Business Objects Enterprise here is you are mentioning the Version right??? We are using BO Edge 3.1. and Crystal Reports 2008.

Is it possible to schedule reports in Excel for me??

Please help,

Thanks & Regards,

Business Objects Enterprise is not the version, but the product per se. The versions would be Business Objects Enterprise XI R2, XI 3.1 and the latest is called Business Objects BI 4.0.

Then there are different 'flavours' of the product - Business Objects Enterprise, Crystal Reports Server, Business Objects Edge etc.

The answer to your question, however, is Yes, you can schedule Crystal Reports in Business Objects Edge 3.1 as well!

One of the 3rd-party Crystal Reports desktop schedulers listed at http://kenhamady.com/bookmarks.html allows you to schedule/automate the process of exporting to excel and freezing desired rows/columns.

It also allows you to auto-fit column widths, turn on auto-filter, generate pivot tables, protect, etc.

What I tweeted was the "Idea". not a solution. E.g.; The SAP Idea Place is a portal where anyone can cerate a suggestion or an idea that they feel should be looked at by Program Managers in order to enhance a product functionality. If you want this idea implement, vote it up here:

https://ideas.sap.com/ct/ct_a_view_idea.bix?c=A5E8DEA8-D886-4250-BA2B-039F7D32FFC0&idea_id=CC7B528C-...

The more votes, the more pressure (theoretically) on the PMs to implement it.
