Hi,
I am working with MII 12.2.2 Build(235). When I execute an iChart from the workbench, I get the following error page -
404 Not Found SAP NetWeaver Application Server 7.20 / AS Java 7.30
Error: Cannot define forward location.
Troubleshooting Guide https://sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/wiki?path=/display/jstsg/home
Details: No details available.
Any thoughts please?
Regards,
Chanti.
Hi All,
I know this is an old post but still replying to it because I think it might help somebody in future.
The above issue arises when you have launched MII admin portal in IE(64 bit), the
new browser window launches in IE(32 bit). To overcome the above issue, try the following:
1. Launch MII admin portal in IE9 (32 bit):
http|s://<host:port>/XMII/Menu.jsp
2. Open workbench by clicking on Workbench link under Content Management
3. Try executing the iChart (or any resource for that matter).
4. Chart opens up in a new IE9 (32 bit) window/tab and doesn't prompt for
credentials
Any workbench resources would ideally work this way and you shouldn't be
prompted for credentials, which means you wouldn't get the error:"Error: Cannot define forward location".
Hope this helps!

Ria

Hi Ria,
Though you are partially correct, the reason why we get 404 error at times on openiing MII workbench files is a little different.
Whenever a user launches or runs a file from workbench, the default browser configured for that particular system gets initialised. Everytime when you launch any workbench file, it will open up in your system's default browser. If there is no other active MII session going on, then a logon screen appears and on giving the credentials, the launched page opens up without any problems.
As opposed to this, if you have already logged into MII using say IE, but the system's default browser is Google Chrome, then on launching a file from workbench, a Chrome window will open, you still WILL see the logon screen, but this time, when you provide the credentials, it will lead you to 404 error.
Hence, it is a good practise to open MII session in the same browser which is your system's default browser.

Hi Chanti,
I just ran into this issue using MII 12.2.3 but it was not limited to iCharts. This may not be a solution but just a work around. When I test an iChart Internet Explorer opens a new browser window and asks me to log in. Once logged in the error you mention appears. If, when the new browser opens, I copy the URL, go back to the IE window where I started MII, open a new tab, paste the URL, hit return, the results are as expected. It must be something related to opening a new browser window.
Hope this helps.
