Translation to different languages. How??????

Hi,

I'm desperated. I have spent several hours trying to translate my queries, variables, and so on to polish and english.

I have read "Generating woklists in the Translation Planner - Quick guide", lots of OSS notes, but I cannot understand how to translate my elements in this new translation tool.

In translation collector in Adminsitrator Workbench, I have generated a object list called "TRANSLATION_LIST".

Then in SLWA and SLWB I have tried to specify this list in hundreds of ways, without success. I have also tried SE63.

Several problems: English translator profile cannot be created, for polish I get message "Completive active program EN", and it is not created.

For english I can create, but I get complete lists of hundreds of standard objects, actions in guide that I cannot find anywhere, but no place to specify my generated list of objects "TRANSLATION LIST".

Can anybody explain me step by step in an easy way how to translate this list.

Regards.

    Hello Oscar,

A couple of weeks I also did try to translate the Query objects using the new translation tool. It was'nt easy to figure out exactly what needs to be done. My suggestion would be:

For variables: Log on to the language in which you would want to translate the variables. The varaible maintenance is integrated in the BEx designer iteself. You can choose the varaible (with the help of technical name) and edit the descriptions there itself. For global variables the changes are carried all over.

    Kind Regards,

    Shravan

      But I experience problems.

When I change text variables in a languages, in some ocasions the length for text variables is set to zero. Then variables dissapear and query don't work OK in other languages.

Sometimes, when I access query in original language after the modification in other language, text variables gives error, telling messages like Variable &&ZXXV01&& does not exist.

I think it is so complicated to set this environment of translation so I don't understand the SAP behaviour on this matter.

Does anybody have any idea of how to perform the translation in the right way (i.e. using SLWA, SLWB...)?

      Thanks anyway.
