Hello Experts,

We had a log fill in our MaxDB database which was used for IDES. As we were taking a backup using MaxDB Database Studio, we recieved an error saying that the database was offline. On inspection we saw that the dispather had stopped. After looking at dev_w0 as well as the dialog files of databse, we found this:

-

trc file: "dev_w0", trc level: 1, release: "701"

We have tried to restart the database services via the control panel, but no luck, we received UA exceptions. Could you kindly help us and throw us a light on how we should proceed. And yes, we followed the sap note that talks about XUSER settings and modifying them with the desired values. We did the setting with the Admin user as well as the SUPERDBA user.

Still no luck.

Points would be handsomely rewarded for replies that bear fruits.

Thanks and Regards,

Saurav

Hi,

1) Can you check whether this command works for you

dbmcli -d <DB name> -u <DBADMIN>,<mypassword> -uSQL <DBM>,<hispassword>

2) Install DBMGUI on you machine and check whether you can connect to your database.

regards,

Deepak Kori

Hello Deepak,

Thanks a lot for replying.

I did try the command where it asked me for the DB name, after which I get the prompt for dbmcli on OMG>

Regarding the DBMGUI, I have installed DBStudio, with this I can connect to the database and look at the data files etc. But, I cannot make it online as I get the error:

com.sap.sdb.tools.databasemanagement.DM_Exception: Runtime environment error
