Picture Attachment in Quotation

Hello Experts,

I have small requirement - Pictures from the material master as attachments need to be printed out in the quotation.

I am able to attach the picture of material in the material master thr System - Service for object -

But my query is how to link this picture in the quotation.If user creates the quotation user should be able to take the print out directly from the quotation whatever the material used in quotation.

Kindly advise.

Hello people,

I know how to attach the document but my concern is how to link tat attachement.

If i attach picture in the material master and same i would like to see while creating quotation if i input the same material.

How the system will pull the same picture while creation of quotation and user should able to take the printout.

Suggest.

Hello,

As I said you before, you can store the pic in .jpg/.tiff format , and develop a program to fetch the pic for a particular material in Quote. Contact an ABAP expert, he will guide you.

I believe this can be done with User Exits.

Speak to your ABAPer on this. We can trigger a User Exit while creating Quotation, which will check whether a Picture is attached in Material Master (same as Material entered in Quotation) & then make it available for User to take a Print from Quotation.

What if your quote has many line items/materials and all of them have pictures in the respective material master records?

Hi Ravi,

A very good question.

If i have n nos of materials then user will take the print out of all the materials since user will be sending the quotation of all the items with details related to tat particular item.

I guess i will go for the user exit to fetch the picture from the material master.

Hello,

You can think of creating quotation template / images and keep it in a shared drive. The quotation print programs need to be changes to pick the appropriate template and prin it along with the images which is palced in .jpg format. Speak wiht your technical team.

Use DMS(Document management system) or GOS to attach an image.
