Handling Unit Management-Determining Loading weight

Former Member

Hi All,

Am trying to use Handling Unit Management here in a process industry. The issue is this that the user is aware of the Total Weight and the Tare Weight but is not aware of the Loading Weight at the time of creation of the handling unit i.e. at the time of creating handling unit, user knows what is the total weight of the packed box and what is the weight of the empty box(which varies according to the moisture content),and not the quantity to be packed. Hence,my question is this that, is there any functionality that can help him calculate the quantity to be packed before creating the handling unit in standard system??

Thanks in Advance.

Regards,

Vinay

hi,

let me rephrase the question in sap technical terms....

you are making GR of a process order in handling units. you have generated the HUs using COWBPACK.

and while doing the transaction COWBHUWE....you need system to calcualte the net weight (that is total weight - empty pallet weight).

in standard transaction, this is not possbile.

user Exits should be used in standard transaction.......

But, if you are using PI sheets for GR posting, then there are chances of doing these calculations.

Hi Sandeep,

The issue is this that the user is not aware of the loading quantity i.e. the quantity to be packed at the time of creation of Handling Unit. So,at the time of doing COWBPACK user is not aware of the quantity to be entered in the field "Qty to be packed". The only things known are the total weight and tare weight ...and yeah,we are not using PI sheet here.

Hi,

in COWBPACK, you are planning or preparing your pallets....so normally it will be your process order quantity only.

in COWBHUWE, you will report the actual produced quantities........
