You can check the upgrade guide for the prerequisite.

Hello Siva,

The upgrade program does not support the update from SAP NetWeaver 7.0 or SAP enhancement package 1 for SAP NetWeaver 7.0 to SAP enhancement package 2 for SAP NetWeaver 7.0.

For this purpose, use SAP Enhancement Package Installer (SAPehpi) for 64-bit systems, or transaction SAINT and Java Support Package Manager for 32-bit systems. You can find the corresponding document for this installation procedure on SAP Service Marketplace at http://service.sap.com/installnw70.

Hope your questions is answered.

Thanks,

Siva Kumar

We are using SAP NW Portal 7.0 (only java stack ) , NWDI Deployments and ESS & MSS.

1. Which folders we have take backup?

2. If upgrade ESS and MSS components is there any problem with previous developments ( iviews)?

Thanks

Siva

You should take complete file system backup. But if there any resource constraint then you can take j2ee folder backup.

There should not be any problem but you need to do complete testing.

Thanks

Hello Siva,

1. Which folders we have take backup?

- I would say /usr/sap/<SID>/<Instance>

2. If upgrade ESS and MSS components is there any problem with previous developments ( iviews)?

- I can say Yes. Old patches will be overwritten with latest ones, if you are planning to upgrade them along with new SP stack. If you want to upgrade them separately with JSPM, I heard that there is an option for NWDI specific ESS/MSS deployment. But I never tried this.

Thanks,

Siva Kumar
