concept of Acoounts and contacts

Hi All,

I have some doubts in the account and contact management.

1. What is the relation between accounts and contacts.

2.One contact id can have more than one account .

3. when creating the planned activity , can we assign different account andcontact .(using planned activity asigment block in web ui).

Could any one help me.
