Performance Evaluation for SOAP and RFC in SAP Netweaver Platform

Hello there,

does anyone know the paper "Performance Evaluation for SOAP and RFC in SAP Netweaver Platform" by Zhibin, Jandhyala & Koduvayur and can summarize its conclusions?

Or could you point me to some other material on this topic? In particular, we are facing a decision as to how to couple an external application to SAP, use SAP JCo 3 or user SAP Enterprise Services. Customer is worried that web services are too slow as compared to RFC.
