Hey SAP experts,

My client doesnt have any legacy system where he is maintaining DMS. Currently he is saving all the files on his desk top or storage disk. Now as he is moving to SAP_DMS with content repository system, i need help on the below,

1) I was able to get details that one can use LSMW to load mass upload the details for DMS for the first time, is it true? or is the any other best practice for DMS mass upload.?

2) Should we provide excel template to customer with all the required detials to be filled in as per SAP DMS (like doc type etc...)

3) When i was testing through LSMW, i was not able to track the step where we load the exact cad, pdf word etc file.

Yes, you can create DIR and assign originals using LSMW. It uses the BAPI BAPI_DOCUMENT_CREATE2 for the documents upload.

In the paramter DOCUMENTFILES, you can provide the originals details.

Wow that was great helpful answer. Also need help on below,

1) Do i need to collect info in excel sheet from client.?

2) Take files in some external hard drive or storage device and then perform this procedure?

Please let me know if any standard or best practice if we have other than this.

You can have the data populated in excel sheet. For originals, you can have the originals in your desktop or external hard drive an then refer the path of the files in the excel sheet.
