Time dependent postings
I have a problem with time dependent postings. I hope that some of you are able to help me.
Example:
We are posing elements on different levels (A & B). LetÂ’s assume that A & B consist of different sub areas. In 2004 we have the following scenario:
A consists of 1,2,3
B consists of 4,5,6
In 2005 the scenario changes! We decide to post 4 in A, meaning that we see the following:
A consist of 1,2,3,4
B consist of 5,6
If the numbers in 2004 and 2005 are equal, A will look larger than B because 4 changed from B to A. That makes it difficult to compare the two years.
Can I add a time valid to/from dimension to my query and thereby make it possible to compare the various postings in a more correct way`? (Instead of running to reports based on 2004 and 2005 numbers and compare the numbers)
