Reference Guide is not available while creating new contract

Hi All,

I have requirement to change the description of Contract Document Name in order to show naming guidelines as description.

I am unable to RG button at the top when I am trying to create a contract document from Contract documents tab of agreement, So I am unable to see which field is used for name.

If I am doing changes for Contract document page customization then its displayed in contract document page but not in contract document tab of agreement.

Please help me in changing the description in contract documents collection in Agreement.

Hi,

As you pointed out correctly, RG is not visible in the scenario when you try to UPLOAD a contract document via the Contract Documents tab.

While you can change the Flyover text of the Description field on the Contract documents UI, you will not be able to change the same for the Description field which shows up when you Upload a Contract document.

I do see that apart from the Effective and Expiration date fields on that page, none other have any hover text at all.

You might want to try the Toolbar Customization technique but the caveat with that will be that anywhere the Description field is referenced across the application, the flyover text on that will change.

Hope others can chime in with their ideas as well.

Hi

Like Vikram suggested,It is not possible for you to provide guideline text which would be displayed while uploading the document.

As a workaroundYou can greate a non editable string extension field containing all guidelines in the contract document tab itself. Thus business users would be able to see the guidelines before they try to upload contracts.If this does not work for you, you can always try the option suggested by Vikram.

I am unable to see toolbar customization in user interface, I can see other options but it doesn't have toolbar customization.

How to do this using toolbar customization? Can you please help me?

Is it possible to display description at collection level in contract documents tab?

For example, in contract documents when user points mouse to Name field then it should display description for that field?

Please let me know if this is possible.

Hi

Try the following and see if this serve your purpose

1. Go to Page Customization, choose master agreement object

2. Create a new page customization with field ID CONTRACT_DOCUMENTS.DISPLAY_NAME, property:Description, Value: Description you want to see, click save.

3. Now go to your master agreement/contract Documents tab and point cursor on Display NAme field. It would show the description.

Yes it helped me a lot and Now I am able to show descriptions for Display Name.

I think read only fields will be good option to for naming guidelines of other fields.

They have agreed for Read only text but now they want read only text in upload documents page, they don't want naming guidelines in Contract documents tab.

Is it possible to extend contract documents upload page?

Hi,

I do not think that is possible.

As a workaorund you can mention that the Description field on the Upload page is still editable on the Contract documents UI page after the contract document is created. Meaning once the user fills out the fields on the UPLOAD page and clicks the create button, user is taken back to the contract documents tab. Here via the pencil icon, user can go back inside the contract document on the UI and then change the Description if he feels that it is not as per the guideline. Remember that providing a hover text on Contract documents UI page is quite simple.

Hi Vikram/Mudit,

Is it possible to display message on top of Header tab, as when I tried your suggestion, it only is displayed after some field.

Also, is it possible to display message on Contract Documents Tab? I even want to hide Amendment checkbox from New Contract Document UI. But I am unable to achieve it.

Please suggest if any idea.
