Hi,

I am new to the IS-Utility. But I have been assigned to do many RICEF. I was going through some functionalites of Utility. Please explain the difference between "Billing Document" and "Print Document". In SD invoice number and Billing number are same. But I am finding in Utillity the Billing document # and Print Doc. # are differenet.

In which scenario and why it is different.

Also, why the Billing Simulation is required.

I will be garteful to you if you kindly explain with business scenario. I have gone through this Forum and SAP help but I could not understand it.

Thanks,

Jans

Hi,

In ISU Billing document is mostly about consumption charges or different discounts related to consumption.

Invoice document includes consumption charges and any other non energy charges. You can also invoice Energy and non energy bill in single invoice.

Billing simulation is done to get an idea of how the real billing will be done. To check whether the charges are calculated properly or not. As there is lots of flexibility in ISU billing engine its always good to see how the different combination are working. And You can do any number of billing simulation for the same period. But if you do real billing once you will have to reverse that particular billing document and re bill the customer for that period to see the changes. So billing simulation is a real good tool to have

In ISU this is the flow of billing -> Meter Read Order gets created -> Meter read comes -> Billing Order is billable now -> Billing is done, a biling doc is created -> Invoicing is done, Invoicing doc is created -> Then this invoice is printed and sent to customer ..

Pranav.
