The Upgrade directory is a symbolic link.

Modify the parameter DIR_PUT in the DEFAULT.PFL profile file to the physical directory.

Hi,

I'm sorry to post on the answered thread.

However, i just need a quick clarification, you use SAPEhpi instead of SAPUp to upgrade from NW EHP1 to NW730??

No problem.

I used SAPUP.

Hello, I though so but the upgrade is stuck at this point.

There is no "ignore" option.

How can I skip this step to continue and finish the postprocessing and finalization steps ?

Hello,

Do you see Repeat the phase option atleast over there? If yes, please give a try.

Thanks,

Hello.

Here what I've got:

Repeat phase

RESTART: Stopped in phase MAIN_POSTP/CREATE_UPGEVAL

choose action: Repeat phase MAIN_POSTP/CREATE_UPGEVAL to continue at the point it stopped

Exit this program

Continue Cancel

If I choose the first action (repeat) it restarts the phase and falls with the same error:

ERROR RFC of "subst_save_upgeval_de" failed

key: UPDATE ERROR

message: EXECUTION UPDATE_ERROR_raised

Continue

Cancel

I'm stuck !

Hello Yann,

Please try the following.

1. Stop EHP installer

2. Stop SAP and DB

3. Kill old processes and clear shared memory/ipcs.

4. Start SAP and DB

5. Start EHP installer and repeat the phase.

It should now. Good luck.

Thanks,

Siva Kumar

Hello.

First, thanks for your help.

It didn't work:

1. Stop EHP installer DONE

2. Stop SAP and DB DONE

3. Kill old processes and clear shared memory/ipcs. REBOOT SERVER

4. Start SAP and DB DONE

5. Start EHP installer and repeat the phase.DONE

Same error.

Hi Yann,

In this case, I would suggest to open a OSS call with SAP.

Thanks,

Hello Matthias.

I'm sorry but not for the moment.

We've opened a message to SAP and they are banging their heads and the wall on this.

They are actually connecting to our système to analyse it.

I thinks that our system is upgraded and operational and that this steps and the those who follow can be ignored but it's not clean till we haven't received the nice window saying "upgrade finished".

Regards.

"they are banging their heads and the wall on this"

Thank you for your quick response!

So it makes no sense to open another message, it would be nice if you give notice if a solution is found.

Greetings,

Matthias

Of course.

I'll do.

Hello SAP find the solution !!!

I've put a symbolic link for my upgrade directory:

lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 12 Nov 21 16:32 /usr/sap/TA1/upg -> /UPGRADE/UPG

The upgrade doesn't bother until the lasts steps.

I had to change, in the default profile, the parameter DIR_PUT from /usr/sap/TA1/upg/abap to /UPGRADE/UPG/abap

And it worked !

I hope Matthias that it solves your case too.

Thanks for your replies:

We are in postprocessing upgrade so our release is 730.

Note 1050413: NA: this is not about extraction to BI

Note 827872: NA: not good release: SAP_BASIS 70 700 700

Note 406390: NA: not good release: SAP_BASIS 46 46B 46D

Our ports are SAP Standard:

sapdp02 3202/tcp # SAP System Dispatcher Port

sapgw02 3302/tcp # SAP System Gateway Port

sapdp02s 4702/tcp # SAP System Dispatcher Security Port

sapgw02s 4802/tcp # SAP System Gateway Security Port

sapmsTA1 3602/tcp # SAP System Message Server Port

Note 421558: this not related to mail, not the good release: SAP_BASIS 46 46D 46D

The logs show that there is a network problem but the RFC is on the system it self (upgrade).

How can there be a network problem within the server ?

Hi,

You should ignore this error because it is just trying to send your upgrade evaluation.

Thanks

Hello,

As Sunny said, it's just an Upgrade Evaluation report sent to SAP for review as part of post-upgrade phase. Infact you can ignore it.

Thanks,

Hi

Refer SAP Note 421558. These could be caused by network issue
