Hello Gurus,

I am facing a little concern during the design phase.The problem is that Clint have 28 Fowarding agent which are treated as a storage centres accross the county.The product are send from the central ware house of the Client to the Agents on the forecasting basis(No Order,No PO).Though the products lies with the forwarding agents place but the owner ship lies on the Client.

We want to treat these agents as depots.But though the owner ship is not getting changed so we are facing issues my MM counter parts.

if we treat it as Storage Loction under the central Plant then we are not able to tract the sales report from the agents.

Kindly suggest a suitable desing so we can proceeed further.

Hi,

I believe your requirement that you mentioned is a complete fit for the standard consignment process available in SAP.

You may make use of the the process to design your process:

1) Consignment fill-up will be used to fill-up your stocks at the consignee's location. Here, the normal Order and Delivery takes place, but will be placed under a special-stock in your inventory (stock not reduced in your inventory). Hence, no billing is relevant as there are no transfer in custody. This can be done as frequent as possible based on your forecasting, and you will have the benefit of using the ATP check at your own warehouse (central warehouse - i.e. CWSE) and if multiple storage location is maintained (i.e. SL01, SL02 etc.) too.

2) Upon sales, a consignment issue can be performed, whereby billing is performed for the actual goods sold from the consignee's location to the end customer. From here, you can easily use a simple sales report to track the sales of goods of your consignee (28 different agents across the country) based on the consignment issue order type (KE).

Based on the standard functions already available in SAP, these few points of the standard consigment process should form the basis of your design and should sufficiently meet your client's requirement.

if you want to track inventory then storage location is the best option.

remmebr ATP normally performed at Plant.
