How to deploy EAR file to PI 7.3 (NW 7.3)

Dear @all;

I did not find the SDM and could only find documentation that we have to deploy EAR files via NWDS.

We on basis side would simply deploy the EAR file; what is the easiest and simplest way to do that?

Under /usr/sap/SID/INSTANCE/j2ee/deployment/scripts I found the deploy.csh

But what is the correct way?

Hi Rene,

just build your sda based on the ear and deploy via JSPM, if NWDS is not available, further information you can find in the following note:

But I will use for the future deploy.csh

I will use deploy.csh to deploy ear files... the pack tool and NWDS are absolutly overhead...

I have the same problem with deploy a *.era file to PI 7.3, Can you tel me how did you used deploy.csh to deploy ear files?

Hi,

PI consultant point of view deploying EAR file using NWDS is easy mechanism,because consultants most of the times never get access to server level.

But normally we have separation of powers between BASIS and Development/Consultant. This is missing in NW 7.3?!

I dont think so... i have not worked on PI 7.3 , so not sure about it.

I wonder about that we have to work with development tools instead of deployment/installation tools,,,
