Planning horizon

Hi,

We have 2 places where we configure Planning horizon,one is with respect to plant and second one is with respect to MRP Group. Is it mandatory to maintain at MRP Group level if already planning horizon is maintained at plant level?. If we maintain at both plant and MRP Group level,then we need to maintain same values or it can be different values?.

The answer is No.

If we maintain at both plant and MRP Group level,then we need to maintain same values or it can be different values?.

You can maintain the different planning horizon for plant and MRP group if required.

MRP will run on the plant planning horizon for the materials for which you have not assigned the MRP group or if you have assigned the MRP group for which horizon is not maintained.

MRP will run the MRP group planning horizon for the materials fror which MRP group is assigned (for which planning horizon has been maintained different than the plant horizon) and it will always overwrite the plant settings.

Please check and revert.

Dear Aditya,

During total planning and single item planning run,

For all the materials without an MRP group,the system uses the plant parameters or the entries in the intital screen of the

planning run.

For all materials with an MRP group the system uses the parameters recorded in the MRP group.

So in the same plant for some materials if you want to allocate special control parameters for planning you can maintain MRP

group,so for all these materials the planning parameters gets picked from the MRP group and not from the plant parameters for

carrying out MRP and for the rest of the materials withoplant parameters or the entries in the initail screen of the planning run.

now check and revert back.
