The application set is not available. Do you want to continue?

Hi, I'm using SAP BPC 7.5 Microsoft Version.

I need my users can login via excel even if when the AppSet is set to "not available".

I set this option into the administration panel. I give offline access to the users profile into security.

Now the users can correctly login and access to the templates (after popup "The application set is not available. Do you want to continue?" during initial connection).

My problem is: when the user open a report, for each BPC "Processing... Querying to server" step, he receives other popups "The application set is not available. Do you want to continue?".

It is very unuseful because a user receive this popup more then one time.

How can I prevent popups during "Processing... Querying to server"?

Thank you very much

P.S.: This case didn't happened into SAP BPC 5.2.

Nilanjan is correct. This feature in BPC behaved differently in versions 5 and 7 than it does now in 7.5.

Hi,

I dont think we can do anything about it. Actually, this is by design, and is to remind the users that they are accessing the application set offline, and might not be looking at the correct data. Usually, the system is taken offline for a certain reason, so, it has to be taken more seriously.

Hope this helps.

Are you kidding me?

System is offline for certain reason... yes! I don't want users can send data but I want they can use reports.

If the reason behind the AppSet Offline was data cannot be correct into the reports: in this case Admin can set users cannot totally login when the Appset is offline via BPC Administration.

If a user to open every single report must confirm not one... but 5 or more times the same popup you can understand it yourself the response.

on BPC 5.2 this doesn't happens. On 7.5 yes and it is a nonsense.

Hi,

As per me, the statement "Are you kidding me" was a bit offensive. I am not the one who have designed the product.

If you dont want the user to login at all, then you might want them not to have any of the default roles in the task profile.

I understand that its frustrating. But anyways, I have tried this in my system, I didnt receive the same message again and again.

If your report has multiple EVDREs, then you might be getting it multiple times - once for every expansion. That might be the case. I am not sure because I cant see whats happening in your system. May be you can contact your local SAP office.

Moderator message Please remember that this is a global multicultural forum. I perceive "Are you kidding me", in this context, as rather an expression of surprise than questioning your intent. On the other hand, posters should be aware that colloquial use of language can be misinterpreted and use with care.
