Hi
has anyone had any issues with the BI4.0 Apache Derby database not being created properly. We are on RedHatLinux5.6 BI4.0SP02fullbuild+SP05. The Apache Derby database is used by the monitoring application to store performance data.
We have an issue whereby if BI4.0 is configured to install Derby on an NFS mount ... then on some of our environments the database does not get created properly. It wouldn't be an issue on single stack environments but for our clustered environments we need the APS servers hosting the monitoring service to all be able to connect to the Derby database (although only one APS will be active at any one time .. bit like the FRS). Therefore, the Derby database has to go on an NFS share. We've got 5 separate environments all configured in the same way. Its an issue on 3 out of the 5 environments ... so its not like a hard problem whereby it will never work.
I've read some documentation on the Derby developer page that suggests Derby may be unstable when located on NFS shares. Waiting for SAP to come back and say something.
Anyone have a similar experience.
Cheers
Mike
