Depends on how frequently the raw material has to be ordered. Especially if it is perishable the company would want to procure it on a daily basis
and/or
they want to keep the inventory low (for keeping maintenance/storing costs low)
and/or
something which depreciates daily ( especially if it depends on forex etc)
