Text to printout on a label upon INS Lot created for certain material

Hi QM teacher,

I am wonder if the following requirement is possible via SAP QM?

We would like samples to be controlled by SAP. Therefore we should be able to create inspection lots for these samples. However these samples shall not be stored in the sample warehouse. Therefore we would like the oppertunity to add a text to the label "SAMPLE SHALL NOT BE RETAINED" that is specific for some defined materials, so that each time a new inspection lot is created with one of these material number, then the above text is printed on the label. Is this a possibility ?

Here u use the Sample stability analysis via Quality notification QR/ QR, this scenario exactly fit in SAP standard functionality.

hi,

Goto QM01

Use QS notification type

ENter material

Plant

Coding and Description

goto action box

click on "Create Inital Sample"

And feed the details as per the screen.

also add ur Label in short text field, so whenever u need a report u execute the QM10 and thus ur purpose get resolved.

U can also modify the Notification screen as per your requireemnt and also modify action box (left side) accordingly. Best to copy the standard one by giving some other code and use / modify as per your requirement.

Therefore, does notification relevant because this is inpection lot creation, not create a notification to have the text printout?

hi,

There is physical sample type in QPR5 and related to each physical sample type FM is there for Lable printing. U may also use this.

Create Inspection lot via QPR5 and genrate your inspection lot with label printing.

Hi D Guru,

Your last suggestion is to use physical sample function. However, I am not quite sure if the business is using this function.

Two questions:

1 - How do you tell, in the system (table or field to pull out), if a company is using Physical Sample in their QM process to create a Inspection Lot?

2 - If our company is not using physical sample function, what sort of alternative we can use to achieve this goal (i.e. each time a new inspection lot is created with one of these material, our desire text (i.e. SAMPLE SHALL NOT BE RETAINED) is printed on the label?

hi,

if ur company not using physial sample than use inspection point concept and mainatained the valuation against those inspection point as per ur requirement.

So whenever ur lot is created, during RR u get the pop up for ur sample reading recording, once u valuate all MIC and got for locking the results, their will be a Magnifier button frm where u provide the valuation code against the sample, so maintain it.

when u chekc ur report, that valuation will be dispalyed over there.
