Dear All,
Dear All,
I upgraded our SAP ECC6 from EHP4 ready to EHP5 . current version of kernel is 720 sup.pkg lvl 90 DB client.Lib DB6_81

We are facing following issues
1. System is constantly compiling old transanctions when entered although i've ran sgen selecting all components

23.04.2012 00:39:57 During this run of the generation 68950 objects were processed.
23.04.2012 00:39:57

23.04.2012 00:39:57
23.04.2012 00:39:57 The generation of 161135 objects is still outstanding.
23.04.2012 00:39:57
23.04.2012 00:39:57 (Further information can be found in db table GENSETM.)
Could you tell us how you solved it?
Regards,
Marco
That is a BUG import SAP Note 1630356 - SGEN terminates after 500 generation errors via SNOTE and that will solve the problem
Regards, Juan
Sunny thankx for reply,
given sap notes related to basis version 700,710,711 etc but our current release is 720 .

Thanx all for reply
After adjust instance parameters and then run SAPPFPAFR again no error
SGEN create job RSPARAGENER8M and its successfully finished, but when I run again SGEN status bar shows message "There are still 158743 objects from an earlier selection to be generated" then we goto regenerate the objects of the last run option and continue , then option appear resume and regeneration I selected resume and continue , then select server and continue after that its shows message in status bar " then amount generated contains no objects u201C
after all above activity transaction still compiling.
I am trying to regenerate all objects 2 or 3 times but issue is same

Hi Shahid,
1. Please try to resume SGEN again. If it does not allow you to resume, please run fresh SGEN by choosing option "Generate for all Software Components".
2. Please increase shared memory pool parameter ipc/shm_psize_40 to value 154000000 in profiles and restart your system. Please run SAPPFPAR command again and make sure no errors reported.
Good Luck.
Thanks,
Siva Kumar
Hi,
Please run SGEN again using option Generate for all Software Components.
Thanks
Sunny

Hi Shahid,
1. System is constantly compiling old transanctions when entered although i've ran sgen selecting all components.
- Are you sure previous SGEN run was successful? I would suggest you check logs and run SGEN on all components again, if needed.
2. Kernel giving error (in all dev_w* files)
- I don't consider this warning as serious error. As Arjun suggested, please run SAPPFPAR PF=</sapmnt/SID/profile/inst.profile> CHECK and fix the errors accordingly.
Thanks,
Siva Kumar
