PI Strategy!

Hi,

I have been assigned to a project where PI will be introduced for the first time and that the existing point to point interfaces and legacy system interfaces needs to be migrated into PI.

Although this is still in initial level, just wanted to understand the pros and cons and other important things that i should be aware of.

What are all the things that i should keep in mind for this migration?

Regards

Krish

Hi,

when you migrate the point to point interfaces into SAP PI, the following points should be taken care.

1) Source Structure and target structure for each message type/interface.

2) any data conversion/business transformations are required in the middleware?

3) Do you need any special adapter such as EDI, sFTP, AS2 etc etc or Standard SAP PI adapters would suffice your requirement

4) Expected End to end processing time by business and is that really possible with SAP PI?

5) How many Sync interfaces? And how are you going to achive that in SAP PI?

6) Error handling for all possible causes and alerting if required.

There are n number points should be taken care during a migration program. But some of the very important steps are as above

Hi

So you are initial stage for introducing the PI system to Point to Point Scenario. You must take care of some points like First what is the System Involve in your landscape. which type of Landscape you going to use ( Production, quality, development ),what type of Interface you going to design means ASYNC or SYNC .What type of adapter going to use. Any Alert Config need. Whether going for Proxies and idocs interface...........
