Can we use SAP Crystal Report 2011 with Visual Studio 2005

I have a requirement to use SAP Crystal Report 2011 in our existing Visual Studio 2005 web application. Presently we are using Crystal report XI distribution.

Please refer me for some basic references required to migrate my existing CR XI code compatible with SAP Crystal Report 2011.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Blog by Ludek on this is worth reading. It should clear your doubts.

[So, what's up with CR 2011 and .NET SDK - actually, any SDK?|]

Thanks,

Saurabh

Thanks Saurabh n Bhushan !

We can't upgrade us to VS 2010, so we can't use SAP CR 2011 right now, We have another option to use SAP CR 2008 which supports VS 2005. But here i have some doubt regarding its support, have you any idea about:

when SAP Crystal 2008 support expires?

Support of CR 2008 (12.x) expires on March 31, 2015. See [Product End of Life Dates: Current Products|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/boc/businessobjects-support?rid=/webcontent/uuid/00f6574f-8723-2b10-c1a6-f13e38194ee8].

Please note that reports created in CR 2011 will work in CR 2008. E.g.; you should be able to create your reports in CR 2008 or CR 2011 and use them in an app that uses the CR 2008 runtime.

As Saurabh has mentioned, There is no .NET SDK available with Crystal Reports 2011.

Take a look at [this wiki|http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=202080541] for the compatible version combinations of Crystal and VS, to which you can migrate your application.

The latest you can upgrade to Visual Studio 2010 + Crystal Reports for Visual Studio 2010.

You can design your reports in CR 2011 and use them in the application after migrating them to a compatible CR version.

Hope this helps,

Bhushan.
