Good day fellas,

10091 trace name context forever, level 1

and a bit below:

The following table lists events we found to be activated in your system, but which should only be activated in special circumstances. Please check whether there are special reasons to set these events. If they are no longer needed, they should be removed.

Event

10091

How can I check these special circumstances and if this parameter is needed ?

Thanks in advance,

    Hi Jordy,

You need to add the parameters mentioned in the EWA report in your initSID.ora file.

Additionally you can check the event parameter recommendation based on SAP note mentioned in the EWA report for database parameter tuning.

Apart from this nothing to be done for normal database tuning .

    Hope this helps.

    • Hi Jordy,

Refer SAP Note 1171650 - Automated Oracle DB parameter check

Run the script attached to this SAP note. Follow the instructions on how to run the script.

Output of this script is oracle parameter recommendations based on your current Oracle version . In your case its 10.2.0.5

If the parameter output says set particular parameter , then you need to add it in your initSID.ora

Incase there are no recommendation mentioned, ignore those parameters and keep it as it is in your initSID.ora file.

      Hope this helps.

    Hello Jordy,

that EWA reports by SAP should be put in the category "useless and for the wastebasket". The EWA is not aware of any installed SBP or previous interim patches - so the suggestions are mostly garbage.

In your special case .... set this event only if you are running one of the following system states:

    - 10.2.0.2 or 10.2.0.4 without fix 7188932

    - UNIX 10.2.0.4 without SBP and without fix 7188932

    - WIN 10.2.0.4.nP (n <= 6 and WIN 32bit) or 10.2.0.4.nP (n <= 8 and WIN 64bit)

    Regards

    Stefan
