changes cost center standard hierarchy from controlling area

Dear Experts,

I need to change cost center standard hierarchy from controlling area settings.

What all steps are involved in order to change standard hierarchy.

will it impact to all other process.

Hi,

I assume you want to assign another standard hierarchy to the controlling area. However, you can only do this if the standard hierarchy already assigned does not contain any cost centers.

Consider the following info regarding the standard hierarchy:

You can use an existing hierarchy as a standard hierarchy only if the following conditions apply.

It must be unique; it is not used for another controlling area;

It may not contain any single values.

It must be classified as a cost center hierarchy; another hierarchy, such as a cost element hierarchy, may not be defined with the same name.

If a standard hierarchy does not yet exist, you receive a message when processing the basic data asking whether a standard hierarchy should be created. If yes, the SAP System notes the hierarchy name and creates a standard hierarchy for the controlling area as the top node when you save the data.

You can change the standard hierarchy name only if no cost centers have been created in the standard hierarchy and the new hierarchy meets the conditions described above. If this is the case, the SAP System creates a new hierarchy when you save the data.

Hi Waman,

Thanks for ur reply.

But i have already created cost center standard hierarchy(ABC) in controlling area and also i have assigned cost center to standard hierarchy.the same is transported in production system and also data are posted in cost center as well.

now i want to change this hierarchy from ABC to XYZ in controlling area setting.

Is there any other way?
