MDM application error

Former Member

Hi all,

I'm having problems on a few machines running MDM 7.1.07.245. XP SP3.

The client installs fine, but when I run the app the following error appears.

"Datamanager.exe Application error"

"The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0150002)"

It does work on 25% on the machines I tried it on.

When testing the install on my machine, it prompted me to install msxml 4.0 Sp2. Which I did, but it still doesn't work.

What exactly are the system requirements and the prerequisites for this software?

I'm tipping it's an msxml problem as the machine it does work on has 6.0 Parser installed.

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

you can check the http://service.sap.com/pam for requirement and pre-requisite for installation, this will require a login.

Even we faced this error, this error is due to missing machine configuration, we were not able to locate the exact configuration requirement

Which operation system you are using.

Abhishek

HI Ramiso,

It seems like the systems having problems have pertaining to dll.

These problems are more to do with OS and installation,as I guess you have same configuration for all computers.

Please uninstall, reinstall, and test.Running a OS repair software can also help.

Thanks,

Ravi

Ravi: I've uninstalled/reinstalled on all the machines where this problem occurs.

I've also deleted the registry entries.

Abhishek: XP Sp3. Thanks for the link, I can't seem to access it though?

Hi Ramiso,

SAP has provided this info, not an exact match match but issue is similar :

Summary

Symptom

Component: Product Safety

Module: EH&S WWI/Expert, Open Content Connector (OCC)

The system issues the following error message when you start WWI, Expert or OCC:

"The Application Failed to Initialize Properly (0xc0150002)"

You are using a new version of the librfc32.dll.

Other terms

Remote Function Call (RFC), LibRFC, 710, 640, 620

Reason and Prerequisites

Reason

You are using an incorrect version of system libraries.

Prerequisites:

EH&S WWI (any version)

EH&S Expert, all versions

Solution

WWI and Expert use the SAP RFC library.

Up to WWI/Expert Support Package 16, the RFC library (librfc32.dll) Version 6.20 is used. This requires MS C++ runtime 6.0.

As of WWI/Expert Support Package 17, the RFC library (librfc32.dll) Version 6.40 is used. This requires MS C++ runtime 2003 (7.1).

However, if you use Version 7.10 of the file librfc32.dll, the system may issue the error message described above.

Check the file version of the file librfc32.dll in the directory Windows\System32.

If it is Version 7.10 is, install Microsoft C++ runtime 2005 (8.0) Support Package 1. You can download this under:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=200b2fd9-ae1a-4a14-984d-389c36f85647&displa...

If it is Version 6.40, ensure that the following files are installed in the directory Windows\System32:

msvcrt.dll, msvcp60.dll, msvcp71.dll and msvcr71.dll

If this is not the case, reinstall WWI or Expert.

Additional cause solution option:

Check the file authorizations for the directory Windows\Registration and ensure that the following authorizations are configured for the directory and the fields it contains: 'Everyone' - read

'System' - full access

'Administrators' - full access

Thanks,

Ravi

Thanks for the info.

Interestingly, neither of the machines that are working or aren't working, have the librfc32.dll in the system32 folder...

The file just isn't there.

Hello,

Please check the library for the missing dll file.

If required download the required file from the microsoft website.

Ravi: I have tried that, same problem.

Abhishek: The one working computer doesn't have the .dll in the system32 folder either.

I don't see how copying it to this folder will work if this machine doesn't have it there either...

Thanks for your help

Hello,

This is a trail and error method,

Copy the dll file into a machine which doesn't have the dll file, restarted the same, and check if it works

Else we formated the machine, installed a windows XP SP02, install MDM Clients on the machine.

Also check with your IT Engineer if deleting the concerned file will affect the normal functionality or not.

Hi Ramiso,

When you start Microsoft Windows, other software may start u201Cautomaticallyu201D with the operating system. These programs and services can include antivirus and system utilities that may interfere with the game. When you perform a Clean Boot, you prevent these programs from starting automatically.

You must be logged on as an administrator or as a member of the Administrators group to complete this procedure. If the computer is connected to a network, network policy settings may also prevent you from completing this procedure.

To view detailed steps on starting your computer in a Clean Boot state, please refer to the following Microsoft Knowledge Base article:http://support.microsoft.com/kb/331796

Hope that helps.

Thanks,

Ravi

Where can I get a copy of the .dll file?

I'm still having problems, the applications and version of msxml are different on the machines and I can't narrow that problem down.

Hello,

1. Open the SAP Support Portal from this URL https://websmp101.sap-ag.de/support.

2. Go to Downloads.

3. Go to the SAP Software Distribution Center.

4. Select Support Packages.

5. Select Search for Support Packages and Patches.

6. Search for RFCSDK.

7. Find the 6.40 RFCSDK for Windows (32-bit application) and download it.

8. Copy the file LIBRFC32.DLL included with the download to the c:\windows\system32 directory on all workstations that will be running Notes access for SAP solutions.

Also try to get the version of msxml parser to the required one.

Regards,

Abhishek
