SEM and Enterprise Portals with BW

Hi All

Good day to you.

I just want to Know about SEM and how does we interact with SEM with BW.

As well how to interact with Enterprise protals.

    • Hi

      Depends what you are planning to do with SEM. From release BW 3.5 upwards, SEM-BPS is included within the BW software. For other components, you have to install SEM and FINBASIS on the BW server. SEM communicates through RFC with BW.

      Yes SEM and BW can be integrated into the Enterprise Portal. Functions will become much more interesting when having BW 3.5 and Portal 6.0.

      P.S. This questions are quite general. Therefore I suggest you have a look at the SAP presentations as mentioned above.

    Just a remark: The planning funtionality has moved from SEM to BW. You can find information on this module (BW-BPS) in the BW section of SDN.
