Hi Experts,
Am trying to introduce a new product but would like to copy the history of an existing product. Is it possible to use the like profile in order to copy the history of the existing product to the new one?
Your help is greatly appreciated.
Sincerely, Ria
Hi,
Yes, Like profile is meant for this purpose only. You create a like profile with your old product and assign that to your new product. Activate Life cycle planning in your Master forecast profile for your new material. While running the forecast, the system will automatically forecast the new material, using the old materials history.
But physically if you want to copy the data of the old material, then you can use TSCOPY transaction or realignment transaction.

Hi Ria,
As Manimaran has said you are in the right direction. For more help on creating like profiles and examples below refer the below links:
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_scm70/helpdata/en/90/cb8287fcab25419668a745716a55cd/frameset.htm
You can see three sub parts inside "Forecasting with like profiles" - Like profile, Creating like profile and Like profile examples.
Hope this helps. All the best.
Thanks and Regards,
Nithin.
